For highly realistic pieces I usually recommend pastels, and they are by far my most popular when chosen by my clients.

Working with pastels lies somewhere between drawing and painting. Pastels have a wonderfully luscious, velvety texture, they are deeply rich in colour. They are easy to blend enabling the artist to achieve highly realistic results with the same depth and richness as a painting. Pastels never crack, yellow or darken over time.

This finished article will need to be framed and kept behind glass as the surface will still be able to be manipulated. With professional framing your artwork will remain in good condition for hundreds of years to come.

Photographic Shoot

Included within each quote will be a full one hour photo shoot of the subject(s) at my art studio in the Forest of Dean.

This is a huge part of the creative process for me, to meet the subject and get a true sense of their personality and character. It also gives me time to meet you and get a clear image of the type of piece you are wanting to create.

If you would like me to travel out to you please let me know and I will be more than happy to incorporate this into your quote.

Mock up

I then go away and using the information and photographs collected I create a ‘Mock Up’ on photoshop of one or two concepts that I think will work well. I email it over to you for your approval and feedback. Once happy with the general concept I am ready to get started!
